2023 Lion Head Minaudière Clutch

Drawn from the Paris-Dakar Métiers d'Art Pre-Fall 2023 runway collection, this minaudière clutch reimagines Chanel's diamond quilting in a round, sculptural silhouette unlike the House's more familiar flap bags. Black lambskin leather forms the body, its glossy surface offset by gold-tone hardware and a striking centre lion head detailed with a glass pearl mane in white and gold, accented throughout with 'CC' logos — a design that turns the bag itself into a piece of jewellery. A signature leather and chain shoulder strap allows it to move from hand-held clutch to shoulder piece with ease, secured by the House's CC logo closure at the front. Inside, black leather lines the interior alongside a mirror and logo plaque, a considered finish typical of Chanel's runway pieces and the kind of detail that rewards a closer look.
