London's Selfridges, known for its original and elaborately designed displays, has recently dedicated two of it's shop windows to the machinelike brainchild of Peter Philips, the creative director of Chanel's make-up division.
The five quirky robots which have invaded the London department store are made entirely out of make-up brushes, eye-liners, lipsticks and other individual pieces of the brand's make-up, and are the protagonists of an imaginative and daring campaign: Make-up Confidential. They even star in their very own animation, Here Comes the Beauty Pack, all seen to be jumping, flying and, of course, striking a pose!
"A few years ago I made these little robots that were part of a headpiece I created for a tribal make-up shoot... that's where the idea first came from," he explained. "I then had the chance to play with these characters and do an animation, that's how my little robots came to life."
Chanel fans can head instore to the Chanel counter where they can purchase their preferred lip and eye products used in creating these original little robotic people.
