French footwear designer, Christian Louboutin, has just come out with his first book, titled Rizzoli, written by the designer as a part autobiography/part personal photo album, comprising of six chapters giving insights into the things have influenced the renowned artist designer, as well as his best loved styles and many highlights of his careers.
And this is not just a book with pretty pictures of stiletto’s and a lot of foot-posers!
In the first chapter Louboutin documents a general biography of his life early-on in the fashion word, working for Chanel and YSL. The second chapter looks at the diverse interiors of the label’s international stores and the third charts the 20 years of Louboutin design. In the fourth chapter, readers can delve into the world of the author, as it features intimate photos of the designer’s Paris and Egypt homes. The fifth chapter is entirely dedicated to his collaboration with director David Lynch, and the final sixth chapter shows a complete catalogue of Louboutin’s work.
Perfect timing for a book release seeing as his first UK retrospective has been announced to hit London next March in 2012, hosted by London’s Design Museum.
The exhibition will detail the story of Louboutin’s rise to the top, starting in 1991 when he launched himself into the public eye, to the present day when he is attending to the feet of everyone, from Victoria Beckham to Lady Gaga.
We cannot wait for both these events! At least we don’t have to wait for the release of the book though! *Heading to the shops*
